About Dr. Daniel Fishman

Daniel Fishman

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Founder, Northcoast Psychology

I have spent more than 25 years helping individuals and families understand and overcome the challenges that affect their mental health, medical well-being, and daily functioning. My journey began in 1994 at Health Hill Hospital for Children, and my training has included leading institutions such as:

  • Cleveland Clinic Neurologic Institute Center for Pain
  • Bellefaire JCB
  • Northshore Psychology Associates
  • Safe Harbor Behavioral Health
  • HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Erie, PA
  • University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Hamot

These experiences shaped my integrative approach, combining psychological care, health psychology, and neuropsychological assessment. For 15 years, I worked in major hospital systems on integrated care teams, collaborating with physicians, neurologists, and rehabilitation specialists to treat complex conditions including chronic pain, traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, dementia, and other neurocognitive disorders.

In addition to this hospital-based work, I have over 15 years of experience partnering with schools to conduct comprehensive academic evaluations - including testing for giftedness, learning challenges, and accommodations (IEP and 504 planning).

An Integrated Approach to Care

At Northcoast Psychology, I bring this extensive medical and academic background into private practice, providing:

  • Therapy for adolescents, adults, couples, and families
  • Psychological and neuropsychological assessment (ages 4+)
  • Health psychology for chronic illness, pain, TBI, stroke, and dementia
  • Comprehensive academic accommodations testing (IEP, 504, gifted)
  • Evidence-based care for anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, severe mental disorders (SMD/SMI), and personality disorders

My goal is simple: to combine clinical expertise with compassion—helping clients gain clarity, develop practical solutions, and improve their quality of life.
